As of 4/15/24: The water distribution system should be connected into loops, so that the supply of water may be conveyed to the consumer from more than one direction. Looping of the water system minimizes the likelihood of consumers being without water in the event of a water main break. The Authority has instituted a program to eliminate existing dead-end water mains throughout the system. Construction was recently completed on a water main extension along New Brooklyn Road that created a loop for the customers that presently receive water from the existing 12-inch water main in place alone Radix Road as well as those along New Brooklyn Road. All work on this extension was performed by Authority personnel.
