Consumer Confidence Report

When the U.S. Congress passed the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act amendments, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was given the authority to require each community water system to provide each of their customers with a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) every 12 months beginning October 1999.
A CCR is basically a report on the quality of drinking water supplied by our utility. This report must contain information on the quality of the water delivered by our system and characterize any risks from exposure to contaminants in the drinking water in an accurate and understandable manner. The CCR is an exercise in communication with lay customers – not a report with great technical precision. The basic elements of a CCR include, plainly worded language, and the following information:
